Abstract

This article examines the vital role of managers in enhancing employee motivation within the mass media industry, emphasizing that effective management aligns individual and organizational objectives to boost performance and productivity. It outlines seven guiding principles from S. Covey that media managers can implement to create a motivational work environment, including encouraging independence, setting clear goals, and fostering strong communication and relationships. The article also discusses key motivational theories—such as Maslow's hierarchy of needs and Herzberg's two-factor theory—highlighting their relevance to employee satisfaction and motivation. By integrating these strategies and frameworks, managers can cultivate an engaged workforce, driving success in a competitive media landscape.
