This paper explores effective methods for teaching English to young learners and emphasizes the importance of age-appropriate, interactive, and learner-centered approaches. Young children acquire language best through meaningful exposure, repetition, and play-based activities rather than traditional grammar instruction. The study highlights the role of songs, stories, games, visual aids, and Total Physical Response (TPR) in enhancing vocabulary development, listening comprehension, and speaking skills.
The paper also discusses the importance of creating a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages participation and reduces anxiety. Teacher strategies such as scaffolding, modeling correct pronunciation, and using real-life communication situations are examined. The findings suggest that when teaching methods are adapted to children’s cognitive and emotional needs, learners demonstrate higher motivation, better retention, and improved communicative competence in English
