Abstract

The article examines the impact of government programs supporting entrepreneurship, implemented through the Damu Fund, on the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The relevance of the study is обусловлена the need to assess the effectiveness of government instruments aimed at stimulating entrepreneurial activity in the context of economic transformation.

The purpose of the study is to analyze the impact of financial and institutional support mechanisms for SMEs on key sector development indicators. The research employs methods of economic, comparative, and statistical analysis based on data for 2021–2024.

The study finds that government programs implemented through the Damu Fund contribute to expanding SMEs’ access to credit resources, increasing investment activity, and boosting the number of active enterprises and employment levels. It is revealed that the volume of financing for support programs has a significant impact on production dynamics and tax revenues.

The results confirm the high importance of government support for entrepreneurship as a tool for ensuring sustainable economic growth and diversification of Kazakhstan’s economy
