Abstract

The article reflects the key points in the development of small and medium-sized businesses in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The analysis of the share of the gross value added of small and medium-sized businesses in the gross domestic product, the number of active SMEs has been carried out. The structure of employment in SMEs is distinguished from the total employment of the population in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The analysis of production output by SMEs per capita and tax revenues to the budget from small and medium-sized businesses is carried out. The analysis of statistical data on labor productivity and investment in fixed assets was carried out, as well as international rankings on entrepreneurship were considered. The role of small and medium-sized businesses in the national economy and the problems it faces are identified
