MODERN PROBLEMS OF RELIGIOUS SOCIALIZATION
Abstract
Relevance of the research topic. The study of the problem of socialization is one of the most important problems of both philosophy and the historical stages of its development. A separate task is to study one of the types – religious socialization, its institutions and stages, and its connection with personal identification. The relevance of the topic of religious socialization in modern society is determined not only by the growth of religious consciousness, but also by the capabilities of artificial intelligence, which has opened a new virtual sphere of religious faith.
The purpose of the study is to determine the essence of religious socialization, identify its factors (institutions), distinguish between primary and secondary socialization and forms of religious identity.
The degree of development of the problem. See the bibliography at the end of the article. Methods and methodology.
The research methods in the article are historical and philosophical analysis, as well as methods of generalization and theoretical analysis of information. The research methodology consists of general scientific research methods: analysis, comparison, synthesis.
Scientific novelty. Religious socialization and religious identification are complex and multifaceted processes that play an important role in shaping personality and its worldview. They depend on social, cultural, and personal factors, including family, education, religious institutions, and societal changes. Modern society is characterized by a diversity of religious identities, which creates conditions for dialogue, but can also cause tension. Understanding these processes helps to analyze the interaction of religion with other aspects of human life, including culture, politics, and personal beliefs.
Conclusions. Religious socialization is the process of an individual's assimilation of norms, values, beliefs, and practices related to religion through interaction with family, religious communities, educational institutions, and society as a whole. The factors of religious socialization are: the family, which plays a key role in early religious socialization through upbringing and example, religious organizations that provide a structured environment for learning and practicing religion, education and the media that shape worldviews, including religious beliefs. The stages of religious socialization are primary socialization, which forms basic religious beliefs in childhood, and secondary socialization, which is engaged in rethinking or strengthening religious beliefs in adolescence and adulthood. Religious identification is the process of an individual's self-identification with a particular religion, including acceptance of its dogmas, rituals, and culture. It can be individual (personal belief) or collective (belonging to a group). The forms of religious identity are: traditional (inherited from family or culture); conversion (conscious conversion to another religion); nominal (formal affiliation without active participation); secular (rejection of religious identity or choice of atheism).
