Research on the Development of Lactic Acid in Human Muscles
Abstract
Lactic acid was discovered in 1780 by the Swedish chemist and pharmacist Karl Scheele. Thanks to this outstanding man the world became aware of many organic and inorganic substances - chlorine, glycerin, hydrocyanic and lactic acids.
For the first time lactic acid was found in the muscles of animals, and then in the seeds of plants. In 1807, the Swedish mineralogist and chemist Jens Jakob isolated lactate deposits from muscles.
