THE EFFECTIVENESS OF STEM EDUCATION IN SCHOOL PHYSICS
Abstract
Studying physics teaching practices is crucial since research indicates that physics and the concept of integrated science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) are closely related. A thorough understanding of physics instruction would probably reveal numerous integrated STEM teaching elements. However, more research is required on this premise. The purpose of this study is to describe physics instruction as it is currently practiced in order to provide guidance for the introduction of integrated STEM education in the future. The research design used was qualitative. It was deliberate to choose three physics instructors with prior experience in STEM teaching. The study employed semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis to collect data on the typical physics teaching practices of teachers. The data analysis was guided by a modified version of the integrated STEM education framework.
They did, however, have rather accurate ideas about integrated STEM education.
Teachers of physics should be assisted in translating their ideas of incorporating STEM education into real-world classroom instruction.
