Abstract

Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) play a pivotal role in the global economy. According to the World Bank, SMEs contribute about 60% to 70% of global employment opportunities and account for a significant share of GDP in many countries. They not only provide impetus for economic growth, but also play a key role in promoting innovation, driving social employment and improving regional economic development.

The flexibility of small and medium-sized enterprises enables them to quickly adapt to market changes and meet consumer needs. This flexibility enables small and medium-sized enterprises to rise rapidly in emerging markets and specific fields, promoting technological progress and industrial upgrading. In addition, small and medium-sized enterprises are often able to provide more personalized services and establish closer relationships with customers, thereby enhancing customer loyalty.

However, small and medium-sized enterprises also face many challenges, such as capital shortage, backward technology, fierce market competition, etc. These challenges require more efficient and flexible solutions in resource allocation and business operations, and business process automation is one of the effective means.
