Abstract

In the contemporary era, it is inconceivable to sustain any form of interaction without digital technologies. Consequently, cyber threats have emerged as a new global challenge, significantly impacting international security. The growing scale and complexity of risks originating from cyberspace further underscore the urgency and relevance of this issue.
Cyber and information security constitute a major concern worldwide, representing a novel challenge for states and exerting substantial influence on the international security environment. As a result, leading global actors face increasing difficulties in addressing cybersecurity threats. In this context, cybersecurity has acquired critical importance in the geopolitical modeling of the 21st century, particularly in ensuring global security.
The article discusses the key characteristics and specific features of cybersecurity. It also addresses issues such as the role of international and regional organizations in ensuring cybersecurity and identifies the capabilities of leading states in cyberspace in this direction. Furthermore, the paper analyzes how the non-proliferation regime of weapons of mass destruction influences the current international security environment, including its cyber dimension. In addition, it explores the role of cybersecurity in the geopolitical modeling of strategic competition in the 21st century.
The novelty of the study is: determining the impact of cybersecurity on the international security system under conditions of a changing world order. The research provides an in-depth examination and detailed analysis of the approaches adopted by regional and global actors, as well as the key factors shaping cybersecurity policy, drawing on examples from leading states. Furthermore, the paper explores the role of international and regional organizations in ensuring cybersecurity and assesses the capabilities of leading states in cyberspace in this direction. It also analyzes the role of cybersecurity in the geopolitical modeling of strategic competition in the 21st century.
