Abstract

The formation of a digital society in modern times has had a serious impact on the development of socialization, self-expression and identity of young people. As a result of the fact that social media and other digital communication tools have become an integral part of everyday life, the boundaries of the self of individuals have expanded, and the interaction between the virtual and real environment has intensified. In this context, the identity of the digital generation is formed not only through traditional social activities, but also based on the feedback they receive based on their self-expression on digital platforms, social interaction and activities on social media accounts. The purpose of the presented thesis is to analyze the psychological characteristics of the digital generation formed in the new world, the transformation of self-boundaries and identity construction within the framework of an integrative theoretical approach. The analysis shows that the digital environment affects the development of the identity of young people in many ways. The study of this issue requires the integration of classical personality theories with modern digital psychology approaches. All this allows for a deeper understanding of the interrelationships between digital self-expression and identity development, as well as the formation of a theoretical basis for future empirical research.
