Abstract

The article scrutinizes the history of the presumption of innocence based on different court cases and views of jurors. The history of the presumption of innocence dates back to ancient Rome an Greece. Interesting  views and suggested laws by Ammianus Marcellinus, Henry de Bracton, Sir William Blackstone, Sir John Fortescue, Sir Matin Hell, Stummer A,  Bennet A, Foster M, Bayramov N, Akbarov R and others have been discussed in detail in the article. The article emphasizes that It is better to save ten guilty persons from punishment than to suffer one innocent person which is a slogan of justice.
