The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies has significantly transformed language education, particularly in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classrooms. This study investigates the impact of AI-enhanced learning tools on students’ learning motivation and language skill development in university-level English courses. A mixed-methods research design was employed, combining quantitative and qualitative approaches, including surveys, observation, pre- and post-testing, and comparative analysis. The study involved 50 undergraduate students from Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University who were divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group used AI-based platforms such as Duolingo, Quizlet, Kahoot!, Grammarly, and ChatGPT, while the control group studied using traditional teaching methods. The results demonstrate that systematic and pedagogically structured integration of AI tools significantly increases students’ intrinsic motivation, engagement, and independent learning behavior. Furthermore, improvements were observed in speaking fluency, listening comprehension, vocabulary acquisition, and grammatical accuracy. The findings highlight the importance of integrating AI literacy, autonomy-supportive learning environments, and pedagogically guided AI implementation to maximize motivational outcomes in EFL education.
