This paper explores three core paradigmatic principles that define the self-development of higher education in the 21st century — innovation, competitiveness and forecasting — and systematically analyzes their connotations, values and implementation paths in the system of higher medical education, with a special integration of the content of immunology. It explains how these principles respond to the evolving demands of modern medicine and healthcare, drive the reform of educational content, methods and technologies, and help cultivate high-quality medical talents capable of meeting both current and future needs. Combined with the characteristics of immunology — an interdisciplinary, rapidly developing and clinically fundamental discipline — this paper discusses the specific strategies, practical measures and application effects of embedding these principles into teaching, learning and research activities. The research aims to provide theoretical support and practical reference for optimizing the training system of medical professionals, improving the quality of immunology education, and enhancing the overall competitiveness and sustainable development capability of medical universities.
