Abstract

The article provides a philosophical, methodological and religious analysis of the modern existence of Islam as a social institution. The ontology of Islam is considered from the perspective of a sociocultural phenomenon, revealing the specifics of its functioning in modern society, trends in change and features of their manifestation. The emphasis is on the regional aspect of Islam and the prospects for expanding its participation in society. The problems and factors of maintaining the influence of Islam in modern society are identified.
