Abstract

This study explores the evolution, challenges, and future perspectives of physical education (PE) and sports development in secondary schools and colleges. The research highlights the historical context of physical education, pedagogical transformations, policy reforms, curriculum development, and the role of extracurricular sports activities. It also evaluates current practices in various countries, emphasizing inclusive approaches and the impact of digitalization and health-centered physical education models. Drawing on empirical evidence and policy documents, the paper underlines the importance of integrating physical education within broader educational and health objectives. Recommendations are made for strengthening institutional capacity, enhancing teacher training, and promoting active lifestyles among students.
