Asimina triloba, a cold-hardy fruit-bearing plant from the Annonaceae family, has been introduced to Georgia, where it is considered a promising agricultural crop. This article reviews Asimina's botanical classification, natural habitat, and global distribution. Special emphasis is placed on its history and adaptation in Georgia, including its introduction from Abkhazia and the ongoing educational-research project at Marneuli Professional College "Modusi." The plant's biological characteristics, ecological requirements, and the unique taste properties of its fruit are discussed. The paper highlights Asimina's economic potential for Georgia as a new niche crop that can enrich local agrobiodiversity and stimulate agricultural development due to its high cold hardiness and valuable fruit. The presented observations confirm the plant's viability and potential in Georgia's climatic conditions.
