Gynecological conditions like PCOS, endometriosis, and cancers often require complex medication regimens, increasing the risk of non-adherence and adverse drug reactions. This study highlights the role of Drug Utilization Review (DUR) and the Medication Regimen Complexity Index (MRCI) in optimizing gynecological pharmacotherapy. DUR ensures appropriate and safe drug use, while MRCI evaluates regimen complexity to identify barriers to adherence. Despite their clinical value, these tools are underused due to time and system limitations. Integrating DUR and MRCI into routine care can simplify treatment, reduce polypharmacy, and enhance patient outcomes, contributing to more rational and patient-centered gynecological care.
