PODCASTS FOR ENHANCING ENGLISH LISTENING SKILLS OF MIDDLE STAGE SCHOOL STUDENTS

The article examines the use of podcasts as a modern digital tool for developing listening and speaking skills in English language learning among lower secondary school students. The study highlights the relevance of integrating podcasts into the educational process in response to the increasing role of digital technologies and the communicative demands of contemporary society. Particular attention is given to the psychological and educational characteristics of adolescents, who are at a stage of personal and academic self-determination. The paper discusses the potential of podcasts to enhance learners’ motivation, provide exposure to authentic language, support vocabulary and grammatical development, and foster communicative confidence. In addition, the role of podcasts in promoting learner autonomy, digital literacy, and flexible skills is emphasized. The findings suggest that podcasts can serve as an effective and accessible resource for improving oral language skills and creating a more engaging and practice-oriented English language learning environment
