Abstract

Gender studies, by posing the problem of true equality of women and men, changed the paradigm of cognition and transformed the entire system of worldview.

These studies have forced a revision of ideas about universal culture, showing that this is only possible in the future, when all obstacles to true gender equality will be removed, when the third (after matriarchy and patriarchy) type of social structure will be created, whose members will absorb the best qualities and traits of both sexes - men and women. This type of social structure will be characterized by new values and norms, developed by research on the intersection of feminine and masculine qualities.

Today, gender studies contributes to the reconstruction of a true social reality in which the values established and recognized by society are not universal, but only represent the ethical and aesthetic preferences of one sex that formed patriarchal society, just as the other sex founded matriarchal society in its time.

The problem of values and norms (aesthetics and ethics) in the context of gender studies is not only a way to form a new axiology, not only a method of objectively distinguishing and identifying common features of the perception of values and norms by women and men, it is a real alternative to the modern development of philosophical knowledge.

Gender studies, bursting in the last quarter of XX century in the social sciences and humanities, has made the greatest revolution not only in them, but also in philosophy. This revolution was caused by a paradigm shift in cognition and the transformation of the entire system of worldview.

In the world of knowledge, the introduction of gender studies shows that it is about the emergence and formation of a fundamentally new direction of research, which tries to study the history and find out the features of the modern relations between men and women in society.

What is the nature of these relations at the beginning of the 21st century, what changes do they undergo, and, most importantly, what social consequences can the changes in these relations have for the development of mankind? All these questions are, in fact, the subject of gender studies, which has become the most dynamically developing area of humanitarian knowledge today. Suffice it to say that more and more often in the scientific world there are statements that gender studies is intended to radically change the worldview of humanity.
