This thesis examines the role of social media and emerging digital technologies in shaping communication patterns, public discourse, and journalism among 9th and 10th-grade students in Almaty. The research focuses on the transformative impact of these technologies on traditional communication models and public opinion formation. A qualitative methodology involving literature review and content analysis of social media was employed. Special attention is given to school and family risk factors, such as bullying, and how IT solutions can mitigate their adverse effects on education and mental health. The study finds that while social media facilitates expansive communication and democratizes information dissemination, it also poses risks of misinformation and exacerbates certain social issues like bullying. Implementation of educational IT programs shows promise in addressing these challenges by promoting positive communication environments and resilience among students.
