The presented classifications make it possible to reveal the criteria for assessing innovations in the general education system. The purpose of the article is to identify and systematize various approaches to the classification of pedagogical innovations. It is based on the analysis and generalization of research works, the significance of which in the field of innovative processes in the general education system is recognized by the scientific community in domestic and foreign pedagogical theory
