Abstract

At present one of the factors which negatively affect development of agriculture is soil salinization and solonetzification.

30% of irrigated soils in the world are subjected to salinization and solonetzification. Every year 1,5 million hectares of irrigated soils are salinized.

According to information of the Ministry of Agriculture 561 965 hectares of soil area are subjected to salinization to a different degreein our country at present. Such soils are mostly found in the Mughan plain and the Kur-Araz valley which have  hot and dry climate conditions.

Formation of salinized soils is related to gathering of salts in ground-waters, rocks and condition affecting their accumulation in soil. Much soluble salt is created during the rock weathering. The annual number of salt which is taken from land to the ocean is 2735 million tons.

Our research is carried out in the chestnut and light-chestnut soils of the western part in the Mughan plain, but a definite part in the Bilasuvar region, Ovchubara village with solonetzification soils.  Here, 20-25 % of increase in the productivity of plants in the zones where cotton, grain and Lucerne planting is used.
