DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF METROLOGICAL SUPPORT IN THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN: CURRENT STATE, PROBLEMS AND DEVELOPMENT PROSPECTS
Abstract
In the era of Industry 4.0, metrology is evolving from a traditional discipline into a digital ecosystem, where accurate real-time measurements underpin smart manufacturing, environmental monitoring, healthcare, and public administration. The digital transformation of metrological activities ensures traceability of measurement results, reduces human involvement, and enhances the transparency and efficiency of procedures. In the Republic of Kazakhstan, this transition is embedded in the national digital transformation agenda and aims to strengthen economic competitiveness, protect consumer rights, and support integration within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
The purpose of this study is to provide a comprehensive assessment of the current state of digital metrology in Kazakhstan, identify key problems, and outline forward-looking development pathways. The research focuses on the country’s metrological infrastructure, with particular attention to its digitalization through the state information system “e-KTRM” The methodology is based on the analysis of regulatory frameworks, statistical data from official sources, and a comparative review of international practices.
