Abstract

This article examines fanfiction as an emerging pedagogical resource in foreign language education, analyzing its genre-specific characteristics, didactic potential, and practical criteria for classroom implementation. It argues that fanfiction represents a transformative writing practice that bridges informal language learning environments with formal educational settings, fostering learner motivation, creative expression, and communicative competence. Drawing upon recent theoretical and empirical research from 2023 onwards, the analysis highlights fanfiction's capacity to develop linguistic accuracy, narrative skills, and intercultural awareness through participatory, authentic writing tasks. The conclusion reached is that effective integration of fanfiction into language pedagogy requires a principled framework balancing creative freedom with structured learning outcomes, ensuring that this innovative resource contributes meaningfully to the development of advanced writing proficiency
