Abstract

In this paper I tried to discuss the major reasons and path of democratization of Poland and Ukraine. This path is not simple and requires a lot of will and motivation. We can see now the attempts to become a democracy in Moldova and Belarus. The process is not fast. It takes a lot of time and resources to do that. However, once the process starts it is very hard to stop it. People who tasted freedom will never give it back. Unfortunately, it is very easy to lie to them and make them believe that the good old days are better, but a well-educated society will never let the dictator lie to them.
