Abstract

The article discusses the main problems and prospects of using solid waste as fuel for thermal power plants and boiler houses. The issue of solid waste disposal for Kazakhstan and for the world as a whole is one of the serious global problems of our time. Promising directions show the possibilities of processing a part of solid waste after sorting (recycling), as well as the possibilities for its thermal utilization with the production of thermal and electrical energy. Incineration of solid waste on the one hand allows you to get energy from actually waste, but on the other hand has a large number of issues. The results of the experiments showed the practical possibility of burning solid waste on a layer grid, both in a mixture with coal fuel and without it. Based on the key conclusions from the experiments, the main problems and possibilities of using solid waste as fuel are shown. There is a high dependence of the combustion efficiency on the composition of solid waste, as well as the unequivocal need for pre-sorting.
