Abstract

The utilization of historical and cultural resources in the tourism industry not only ensures its dynamism but also contributes to the development of countries and communities, leading to the emergence of new realities in tourism. In international tourism, the number of participants in cultural tourism movements is dynamically increasing, accounting for approximately 35-40% of total tourist flows across different countries. Spain has made significant progress in the development of cultural tourism, relying on its rich historical and cultural heritage.

This article provides an in-depth analysis of the transformation of Spain's historical and cultural heritage into tourism products, its impact on the development of destinations, and the role and changes in cultural tourism within the dynamics of inbound tourism. Additionally, it explores the role of cultural tourism in the development of key tourism destinations, its influence on revenue generation, and particularly its contribution to the growth of "urban" tourism.
