The impact of climate change on livestock productivity
Abstract
This article examines the impact of climate change on livestock productivity. Key factors related to temperature changes, precipitation fluctuations, water shortages, deteriorating forage supplies, and the increasing frequency of extreme weather events are examined. Particular attention is paid to the manifestations of heat stress, the impact of climate factors on animal health and reproductive performance, and the economic consequences of reduced productivity. The paper emphasizes the need for adaptation measures, including improved housing conditions, the development of sustainable feed systems, the selection of animals with increased climate resilience, and the use of digital monitoring technologies. It is noted that a solution to this problem is possible only through the combined efforts of science, farmers, and the international community
