Difficulties of Translation of Metaphors: Kazakh and English Languages

Abstract

This article explores the complex world of metaphorical translation and explores the unique challenges and peculiarities of bridging the linguistic and cultural gap between the Kazakh and English languages. Metaphors are powerful linguistic devices that convey unique insights into a culture's beliefs, values, and traditions. However, when it comes to translation, these figurative expressions can pose huge obstacles that require a deep understanding of the source and target languages as well as the associated cultural contexts.

The study begins by showing the crucial role of culture in the formation of metaphors and emphasizes the need for translators to be deeply aware of the cultural nuances underlying these linguistic devices.
