Development of Project Management in the Sports Industry

Abstract

The application of project management methodologies in the sports industry is a big and important topic for research around the world. In order to plan, execute, monitor and control projects to a set scope, budget and time managers must use project management techniques and tools. The problem that needs to be addressed in this article is the lack of clarity as to what level of PM exists in the sports industry.

All organizations in the current historical period are developing in the system of market relations. The sports industry, as part of the system of market relations, is also developing according to the rules of the market. Most of the world's population consume the sport content, and it has evolved from an amateur pastime to a huge industry that employs a lot of people. The sports business is actively developing from year to year, the need for sports services and goods is growing, and the main goal is to ensure maximum profitability from the provision of these services and goods. Effective project management can help achieve this goal, just like in other industries.
