Abstract

The article elaborates the relationships between human language processing and cognition. The study investigates the impact of cognition on the language. This influence may be vice versa. It means that there is an interaction between language processing and cognition. In fact, these issues are rigidly studied in psycholinguistics which is also related with neuroscience, as well. Some socio-linguists claim that there is also an interrelationships between culture, language and psychology.  Important mechanics of linguistic phenomena like syntax, semantics, and discourse comprehension are explored  by the linguists  which create algorithms which emulate human language behavior. These models help create natural language processing (NLP) technologies like sentiment analysis and machine translation, in addition to offering insights into the cognitive processes involved in language use.
