Seizing the Younger Viewer Audience: Strategic Implications for Marvel Studios
Abstract
This paper examines strategic opportunities for Marvel Studios to expand its brand presence and strengthen consumer loyalty through targeted content development and distribution on streaming platforms. Focusing on the younger audience demographic, particularly children and adolescents, the paper argues that Marvel can capitalize on its iconic characters to build brand equity at an early stage of consumer life. Additionally, the paper explores the potential for Marvel to cater to Millennials and Gen X through video-on-demand (VOD) content that aligns with evolving consumer preferences, accelerated by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The paper also emphasizes the value of multi-phase cinematic narratives in fostering long- term viewer engagement and anticipation. By aligning its content strategy with these trends, Marvel Studios can secure sustained growth and enhance its brand presence in an increasingly competitive media landscape.
