This article analyzes scholarly works addressing the challenges faced by ethnic Kazakhs (repatriates) who were compelled to leave Kazakhstan due to various historical events and return to their ancestral homeland between 1991 and 2024. It mainly focuses on young Kazakhs who come to pursue education. The article explores their adaptation to Kazakh society, integration into a new environment, efforts to build their future in the country, and practical strategies for addressing these challenges. The study examines the theoretical and methodological foundations of ethnic repatriation as a form of transnational migration, the legal and regulatory framework for immigration issues in Kazakhstan, the stages and content of repatriation policies, the historical return of Kazakhs to their homeland, the adaptation and integration prospects for repatriates in Kazakhstan, and the challenges of cultural adaptation.
