Formative Assessment as a Tool for Supporting Student Progress in English Lessons

Abstract

            This article explores the role of formative assessment in enhancing student progress in English language lessons. It highlights the importance of providing continuous feedback, using assessment criteria, and engaging learners in self- and peer-assessment. Formative assessment is considered not only a way to monitor academic performance but also a strategy to support student motivation, autonomy, and reflective learning.
