INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT FOR SPATIAL DEVELOPMENT OF RURAL AREAS
Abstract
Rural spatial development is a complex process of change affecting the socioeconomic, demographic, infrastructural, and environmental parameters of rural areas, influenced by both internal and external factors. In today's context, characterized by globalization, urbanization, digital economic transformation, and increasing interregional competition, ensuring the sustainable development of rural areas is particularly important. They not only serve as the state's agricultural production foundation but also form an important component of the national spatial framework, contributing to strengthening food security and preserving human potential, natural resources, and cultural and historical values.
Currently, one of the most noticeable trends is the increasing spatial differentiation of rural areas. On the one hand, leading regions are developing, actively involved in agglomeration processes and integrated into global production and distribution chains. On the other hand, depressed peripheral areas, characterized by declining business activity and limited development opportunities, persist and expand.
