Abstract

The article is devoted to national-historical consciousness as one of the most vital concepts in shaping national identity. Historical time serves both as a condition for the formation and a key characteristic of historical consciousness, with its specific features identified in the contemporary era. Particular emphasis is placed on the socio-philosophical aspects of the problem as a symptom of modern cultural development and the influence of various spiritual factors. An attempt is made to outline the main reference points for identifying this phenomenon and defining its differences from the related phenomenon of mentality.
