Abstract

The article elaborates the Oral approach or Situational language teaching which is based on repetition of words and grammatical structures. Though this method is already dead, this method is still being used mixed with other language teaching methods. The main essence of this method is that the language is not taught, it is usually learnt. Thus, this learning method is based on self-study. Though this method does not have any teacher anymore as before, it is naturally used when going and living abroad. SLT livedĀ  within 30 years between 1930 and 1960. At that time, this method was applied in schools and army in massive form. Then this method proved to be ineffective and fell out of use.
