Abstract

This study provides an empirical review of the literature exploring the role of gold demand during crises, with a concentration on the unique difficulties and outcomes brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic. To forecast where interest in gold is headed, this review synthesizes data from a number of different studies. Particularly pertinent in light of the unprecedented health and economic turmoil is the review's discussion of gold's role as a safe-haven asset and the complexities of the gold market on a global scale.
