DEVELOPMENT OF AN INTEGRAL SYSTEM OF INDICATORS OF MANAGEMENT EFFICIENCY AND QUALITY OF MEDICAL SERVICES

Abstract

For the development and subsequent implementation of an integrated system of indicators of management efficiency and quality of medical services in the medical center "Western", Atyrau, we created a working group, including a quality manager, a general practitioner, an accountant, a nurse, and the chief physician of the center.

The process of developing the indicator system was carried out in 3 phases.

First stage: identification of potential indicators of management efficiency and quality of medical services provided by the Western Medical Centre, Atyrau. At this stage, the working group carried out a systematic literature review designed to compile a complete list of quality indicators. The participants of the group studied the data of regulatory legal acts, articles and educational publications on the topic, reports of scientific and scientific-practical conferences, methodological recommendations of the Republican Centre for Health Development of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan (RCHD of the Ministry of Health of the RK). Based on the results of the work, a preliminary list of indicators relevant to the assessment of management efficiency and quality of medical services provided by the Western Medical Centre, Atyrau was compiled.

Second stage: selection of indicators of management efficiency and quality of medical services provided by the Western Medical Centre, Atyrau. At this stage, the selection of indicators acceptable for implementation in the medical center was carried out, first during the discussion in the working group, then during the work with a focus group of Medical Centre employees and invited external experts.
