Abstract

As we have seen, the vocabulary of the French language, as well as that of any other language, is constantly changing. Its lexicon varies and is enriched at any time. Among the various sources of lexical enrichment, it is necessary to highlight borrowing from other languages. This linguistic phenomenon is closely connected with the development of society, with the history of the people. It is determined by several material and psychological factors. The progress of science and technology, that of political life and human mentality, commercial and cultural relations between peoples largely contribute to borrowing.
