The article presents a structured and comprehensive model for requirements analysis and architectural design specifically tailored for smart information systems oriented towards educational institutions. This model combines several methodological approaches, integrating techniques for eliciting and collecting detailed requirements, formalizing these requirements using UML diagrams, and establishing clear criteria for selecting the most suitable architectural solution. The architectural criteria are designed to ensure the system’s capability to support adaptive learning processes, provide advanced analytics on student performance, and enable seamless integration with a variety of external services and platforms. Practical testing and application of the model in the process of developing an educational platform demonstrated its effectiveness in improving the overall quality and completeness of design documentation, as well as in reducing the number of clarifications and corrections required during later stages of development. The results indicate that the model not only facilitates more precise and structured documentation of requirements but also enhances communication among stakeholders, ensures alignment between functional needs and architectural decisions, and ultimately contributes to the creation of more robust and scalable Smart education systems.
