The transformation of the contemporary work environment has significantly changed traditional approaches to work organization within organizations. The advancement of digital technologies and the post-pandemic reality have contributed to the widespread adoption of remote and hybrid work models, which influence both organizational effectiveness and employee well-being and engagement.
The aim of this study is to assess the impact of remote and hybrid work models based on the experiences of employees working in the Georgian banking sector. The research is based on a quantitative methodology and was conducted through a structured questionnaire. A total of 718 respondents employed in the banking sector participated in the study. The research instrument consisted of 30 questions and assessed key dimensions, including work flexibility, productivity, communication effectiveness, organizational engagement, work-life balance, and managerial challenges.
The findings indicate that remote work increases employees’ perceived flexibility, improves time management capabilities, and contributes to higher job satisfaction. However, it also creates challenges related to social integration, team communication, and the maintenance of organizational culture. The hybrid work model was evaluated by respondents as a more balanced approach, enabling organizations to preserve flexibility while simultaneously strengthening team communication and organizational connectedness.
The study demonstrates that the effectiveness of work models depends not only on technological capabilities but also on organizational culture, managerial competencies, outcome-oriented management systems, and the level of employee autonomy.
