Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an important component of modern education, especially in the field of foreign language teaching. AI-based technologies such as adaptive learning platforms, chatbots, speech-recognition systems, and automated assessment tools provide learners with personalized educational experiences and continuous access to learning materials. However, despite the growing popularity of AI technologies, the question remains whether Artificial Intelligence can fully replace human teachers without reducing the quality of education.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the role of AI in foreign language teaching and evaluate its advantages and limitations in comparison with traditional teaching methods. The research combines theoretical analysis of recent scientific literature with empirical data collected through a student survey.
The findings demonstrate that AI significantly improves accessibility, motivation, personalization, and learning efficiency. At the same time, AI technologies cannot fully replicate emotional support, cultural understanding, spontaneous communication, and pedagogical flexibility provided by human teachers. Survey results show that although students actively use AI tools in language learning, most participants do not support the complete replacement of teachers.
The study concludes that the most effective educational model is a blended approach combining AI technologies with human instruction. Artificial Intelligence should function as a supportive educational tool rather than a substitute for teachers.
