Abstract

The purpose of this article is to study the use of digital technologies in education in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). We will discuss the effectiveness of the teaching-learning process in terms of elements that could facilitate learning using information and communication technologies (ICT) in STEM education. This will be done, firstly, by applying a student-centered approach to activities that students performed using ICT to complete the task set by the teacher (cognitive involvement in the task, motivation, the nature of the accumulated knowledge). The goal was to understand how ICT could be a cognitive help for the student. Second, a teacher-centered approach to developing prescribed assignments (form, knowledge carried over by the assignment) was used to determine how ICTs could be adapted to facilitate student learning in STEM education.

The article is devoted to the coverage of the possibilities of using STEM technologies in the educational process of MBOU BGO secondary school No. 4 within the framework of the subject "Engineering technologies." The emphasis was placed on the synthesis of natural sciences and engineering technologies, mathematics and art, robotics. Examples of solving educational problems, acquired skills are given.
