The history of folklore goes back to the emergence of the first human settlements. Folklore existed in the oral tradition, it is scientific knowledge that realizes all kinds of physical and spiritual experience of the ethnos through the oral tradition. The most important quality that distinguishes folklore science from professional science comes from the fact that orality is determined by reflecting all the principles of existence.
Folklore genres are divided into archaic and contemporary genres. Trials, spells, fortunes, oaths, prayers, applause and curses are widely used in archaic folklore genres. However, this division is conditional, since the process of creating folklore continues throughout history, new examples are regularly added to these genres.
As for the narratives, the narratives are short stories about an event or story that are passed down from generation to generation, the subject of which is often of an extraordinary nature.
In the narratives, the historical truths of the distant and recent times preserve their uniqueness and the concreteness of artistic thinking. Narratives cover a specific event, a fact, and end with an instructive ending. Narrations are of 2 types:
- Narratives related to historical figures
- Narratives related to toponyms (geographic areas).
Narrative-type examples are called conversations in other regions. The stories presented under the name of conversation can be counted as variations within the genre of narration. Since it has different contents, it is not possible to make a definite decision on the genre of the conversation. Conversation varies from text to text and in some cases it can be equated with speaking.
The essence of many conversation texts is rooted in educational topics. Genre assignment of conversation samples is controversial. Collectors also feel this and give those samples with different names. It includes complaints, boasts, detours, escapes, substitutions, praises, improvisations, deals, stories, trials and interesting conversations
