INNOVATIONS IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
Abstract
The construction industry uses technology to make construction management and site operations more efficient and sustainable. Major trends in the construction industry include building information modeling (BIM), construction robotics, and the use of advanced building materials. In addition, the COVID-19 pandemic creates a need for new construction methods that comply with safety and labor regulations. Consequently, start-ups and large-scale companies are increasingly developing innovations in prefabrication, worker safety and construction robotics. In parallel, 3D printing and sustainable building solutions significantly reduce the negative impact of construction on the environment.
For this in-depth study of major trends and start-ups in the construction industry, we analyzed a sample of 3,550 global start-ups and large-scale projects. The result of this research is innovative data-driven analysis that improves strategic decision making by providing you with an overview of new technologies and start-ups in the construction industry. These insights come from working with StartUs Insights Discovery platform powered by big data and artificial intelligence, covering over 2,093,000 startups and scalable projects worldwide. The platform quickly provides a comprehensive overview of new technologies in a particular field, and identifies relevant startups and large-scale projects at an early stage (1).
On the innovation map below, you'll get an overview of the top 10 trends and innovations in the construction industry that are affecting construction companies around the world.
