DSP-BASED COMPENSATION OF CHROMATIC DISPERSION IN COHERENT OPTICAL COMMUNICATIONS
Keywords:

This article investigates chromatic dispersion and its compensation in coherent optical communication systems. A numerical simulation is performed using QPSK modulation, a symbol rate of 32 GBd, a wavelength of 1550 nm, and an optical fiber length of 50 km. Digital signal processing (DSP) is applied at the receiver to compensate for dispersion-induced signal distortions. System performance is evaluated using the bit error rate (BER) and error vector magnitude (EVM). The simulation results demonstrate that DSP-based compensation improves signal quality under the considered conditions.
