Abstract

There are numerous conflicts arising on religious grounds in the world and in Georgia as well. Religious conflicts are particularly sensitive, that’s why it is very important for the journalist to show great discretion in their coverage, in order not to irritate the opposing parties and increase tension. However, in the researched articles and videos, it is clear that journalists often speak from the standpoint of one side, there is often an evaluative tone and even a call to specific action. Often, the source of inspiration for conflict is unverified information, in which a large contribution is made by the media. The best way to resolve conflict is proper communication. The main contributor to conflict resolution is its correct coverage and objective delivery of information to the audience. Accordingly, the approach of both Georgian and foreign media on religious topics needs significant improvement. In the coverage of religious conflicts by the media, the facts of insecurity of standards are visible, which is an important problem.
