Abstract

Until the end of the 1960s, the Azerbaijan SSR continued to lag behind socio-economically and politically. After Heydar Aliyev was elected the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan in 1969, the process of decline in all areas was eliminated. In spite of gaining advantage in the economic spheres in the first periods in Azerbaijan, the development in the industrial sphere began to be noticed within a short period of time. After Azerbaijan gained independence, Azerbaijan entered a new stage of development in the field of measures taken by the great leader Heydar Aliyev.
