Digital technologies have become integral to English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instruction, particularly in enhancing vocabulary acquisition. This paper examines the effectiveness of digital tools such as mobile applications, online dictionaries, spaced-repetition systems (SRS), gamified learning platforms, and multimedia resources. Drawing on relevant theories and recent research, the study evaluates how these tools affect retention, motivation, learner autonomy, and cognitive processing of vocabulary. The findings from the literature indicate that digital tools significantly support vocabulary learning by increasing exposure, contextualization, and learner engagement. However, challenges such as distraction, digital overload, and unequal access remain. The article concludes by offering pedagogical recommendations for integrating digital tools effectively in EFL classrooms.
